HUNTING IN SOUTH AFRICA

One country. Extraordinary variety. A safari built around you.

South Africa is one of the most diverse hunting destinations in Africa.

From open plains and bushveld to mountains and thick bush, different regions offer very different landscapes, species and hunting experiences.

Through our trusted friends and hunting partners, we have access to hunting concessions in different parts of South Africa. This allows us to choose the hunting area according to what you want to hunt, rather than trying to fit every hunter into the same location.

Whether this is your first African safari, you are returning for a particular species, or you are looking for a specialised dangerous-game hunt, we can build the programme around your priorities.

Tell us what you want to hunt, how many days you have and your approximate budget. We will help you put the right South African safari together.

Plains game · Dangerous game · Multiple hunting areas · Tailor-made safaris · Complete service

WHY HUNT SOUTH AFRICA?

Few destinations offer so much variety in one country.

South Africa can be an excellent introduction to African hunting, but its variety also makes it a destination hunters return to again and again.

EXTRAORDINARY VARIETY OF GAME

South Africa offers an exceptional range of huntable species – from classic plains game to specialised dangerous-game opportunities.

A safari can be built around one particular trophy or around several priority species.

DIFFERENT HUNTING AREAS

We are not tied to one farm or one hunting area.

Through our partners and their network of concessions, we can select different locations according to the species you want to hunt, the hunting experience you prefer and current opportunities.

HUNT YOUR WAY

Depending on the species and hunting area, different hunting methods can be arranged – from traditional walk-and-stalk and spot-and-stalk hunting to blinds, bow hunting and specialised hunting methods.

The programme is built around the hunt, not the other way around.

YOUR SAFARI, YOUR PRIORITIES

There is no reason why every hunter should buy the same pre-designed package.

Tell us which animals are important to you, your trophy expectations and approximate budget. We will help build a realistic safari around those priorities.

The question isn't simply "What can I hunt in South Africa?" It is "What do I want my South African safari to be?"

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HUNT?

From classic plains game to Africa's most iconic species.

One of the greatest advantages of hunting in South Africa is variety.

Through our trusted partners and access to different hunting concessions, we can select the hunting area according to the species you want to hunt, the type of experience you prefer and your budget.

Your safari can focus on several plains-game species, one particular trophy or a specialised hunting experience.

PLAINS GAME

South Africa offers an exceptional variety of plains game and is an excellent destination for both a first African safari and experienced hunters looking for particular species.

Depending on the hunting area, opportunities may include:

Kudu · Eland · Gemsbok · Wildebeest · Impala · Waterbuck · Nyala · Sable · Roan · Springbok · Zebra · Warthog and many more.

Tell us which species are your priorities and we will help you build the safari around them.

DANGEROUS GAME & BIG FIVE

For hunters looking for one of Africa's ultimate hunting experiences, specialised dangerous-game hunts can also be arranged.

Through experienced professional hunters and suitable hunting concessions, opportunities may include:

Cape Buffalo · Lion · Leopard · Elephant · Rhinoceros

These hunts are individually prepared according to the species, hunting area, permits, quotas and current availability.

NIGHT HUNTING

When the African sun goes down, another hunting experience begins.

Selected hunting areas offer opportunities to hunt nocturnal species such as Bushpig and Jackal.

Depending on the hunting area, night hunting can be added to a broader safari and offers a completely different African hunting experience.

SOMETHING SPECIAL?

Looking for a particular species, exceptional trophy or a hunting experience that isn't listed here?

Ask us.

Our access to different hunting areas means that we don't have to limit your safari to the species available on a single property.

Tell us what you want to hunt. We will look for the right place to hunt it.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HUNT?

Different terrain. Different species. Different ways to hunt.

The hunting method depends on the species, terrain, hunting area and your personal preferences.

WALK & STALK

For many hunters, this is Africa at its best.

Hunt on foot with your Professional Hunter, locate the game and carefully stalk into a suitable shooting position.

SPOT & STALK

In open or mountainous terrain, glassing from a suitable vantage point can be used to locate game before planning the stalk.

RIFLE & BIG BORE

From traditional plains-game rifles to big-bore rifles for dangerous game, the appropriate equipment depends on the species you are hunting.

You can bring your own rifle or, if you prefer to travel without one, firearm rental can be arranged.

BOW AND CROSSBOW HUNTING

Bow and crossbow hunting can also be arranged in suitable hunting areas, either through stalking or hunting from strategically positioned blinds.

Tell us how you like to hunt – or let your Professional Hunter choose the method that best suits the species and conditions.

A CLEAR PACKAGE. NO DAILY SURPRISES.

Concentrate on your hunt. We take care of the rest.

We prefer to build our South African hunting safaris so that the essential services are already included in the programme.

You should know before you travel what your safari will cost and what is included – rather than discovering additional charges for everyday services after you arrive.

ACCOMMODATION

Your accommodation during the hunting safari is included.

Depending on the hunting area and programme, this may range from a traditional hunting camp to a comfortable safari lodge.

MEALS & DRINKS

Meals during your hunting programme are included, together with non-alcoholic drinks and local alcoholic beverages.

After a day in the bush, sit down, enjoy dinner and talk about the hunt – without thinking about another bill.

PROFESSIONAL HUNTING TEAM

Your safari includes the services required for the hunt, including your Professional Hunter and, depending on the programme, trackers, skinners and other local hunting staff.

TRANSPORT & TRANSFERS

Transportation within the hunting area and the agreed transfers are included in the programme.

We will explain your arrival arrangements before the trip so you know where you will be met and how you will get to the hunting area.

WHAT MAY BE EXTRA?

We will always make this clear before you book.

Depending on the particular safari, additional costs may include:

Additional animals not included in the agreed programme · Gratuities · Rifle rental and ammunition · Taxidermy and trophy shipping · Flights · Special services requested by the hunter

Some specialised hunts may also involve specific additional costs, which will always be explained in your individual offer.

ONE OFFER. CLEAR CONDITIONS.

Before confirming your safari, you will receive a clear offer explaining:

what you are hunting · hunting days · accommodation · services included · trophy fees or package price · transfers · additional costs

The goal is simple: when you arrive in Africa, you should be thinking about the hunt – not calculating what every meal, drink or drive will cost.

BUILD YOUR SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARI

Start with the animals you really want to hunt.

You don't need to choose a ready-made package from a catalogue.

Tell us which species are most important to you, how many days you would like to hunt and your approximate budget. Together with our partners, we will build a safari around your priorities.

1. CHOOSE YOUR PRIORITY SPECIES

Start with the animals that bring you to Africa.

Maybe your dream is a kudu and gemsbok. Perhaps you are looking for sable, buffalo or a particular trophy. Or maybe this is your first safari and you would like us to recommend a suitable combination.

Your priority species are the starting point for building the safari.

2. WE CHOOSE THE RIGHT HUNTING AREA

Different species, trophy qualities and hunting experiences may require different hunting areas.

Because our partners have access to multiple concessions, we can look for the area that best matches your hunting priorities rather than limiting your safari to one property.

3. WE BUILD YOUR PACKAGE

Once we know your priorities, we can prepare the complete programme.

The offer will clearly show the hunting days, species or trophy fees, accommodation, hunting services, transfers and what is included in the package.

You will know the conditions before you book.

4. KEEP SOME FLEXIBILITY

You don't necessarily have to decide on every animal before you leave home.

Depending on the hunting area, availability and what you encounter during the safari, you may have an opportunity to add another species while you are there.

Your Professional Hunter can discuss the possibilities and trophy fee with you before you make the decision.

Start with your must-have species. Let Africa provide some of the surprises.

GOOD TO KNOW

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HUNT IN SOUTH AFRICA?

Hunting is possible during much of the year, but the best period depends on the species, hunting area and type of safari you are planning.

Tell us which species are your priorities and we will recommend suitable dates for your hunt.

HOW MANY HUNTING DAYS SHOULD I PLAN?

There is no single answer.

The ideal length of your safari depends on the number and type of species you would like to hunt, the hunting area and your priorities.

Once we know what you are looking for, we will recommend a realistic number of hunting days rather than simply selling you a fixed-length package.

CAN I BRING MY OWN RIFLE?

Yes.

Foreign hunters can temporarily import hunting firearms into South Africa, subject to the required South African firearm permit and documentation. We can help you with the information and arrangements you need before travelling.

If you prefer to travel without your own rifle, firearm rental can also be arranged.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY TROPHIES AFTER THE HUNT?

After the hunt, the trophies can be prepared for further processing and export.

Depending on your requirements, we can assist with the organisation of trophy preparation, taxidermy and shipment to your home country.

These services and their costs will be discussed separately, so you know how your trophies will be handled after the safari.

CAN I ADD ANOTHER ANIMAL DURING MY SAFARI?

Often, yes.

If another suitable hunting opportunity arises during your safari, discuss it with your Professional Hunter. If the species is available and may legally be hunted, the trophy fee and conditions will be agreed before you decide to hunt the animal.

This gives you flexibility without having to select every species before leaving home.

WHAT IF I AM LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR TROPHY OR SPECIES?

Tell us.

Through our partners and access to different hunting areas, we can look for a concession that suits the species, trophy expectations and type of hunt you are looking for.

This is particularly useful for hunters returning to Africa for a specific animal rather than planning a general plains-game safari.

CAN A NON-HUNTING COMPANION COME WITH ME?

Yes.

A partner or other non-hunting companion can join your trip. Depending on the particular hunting area and programme, additional activities or a photographic safari can also be arranged.

The hunt remains the core of the programme, but we can discuss suitable possibilities for your companion when planning the safari.

READY TO PLAN YOUR SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARI?

Tell us what you want to hunt. We will help you build the right safari.

Whether this will be your first African hunt or you are returning for one particular species, tell us your priorities.

Send us the species you are interested in, preferred dates, number of hunters and approximate budget. We will discuss the possibilities with our trusted partners and look for the hunting area and programme that best match your expectations.

You don't need to choose a package. Start with the hunt you want to experience.
