MUSKOX
A true survivor of the Arctic.
Muskox is one of the most distinctive big-game species in the world and one of Greenland's iconic hunting experiences.
Hunting takes place in vast open landscapes where locating the animals is only the beginning. The terrain, weather and Arctic environment all become part of the hunt.
For hunters looking for an unusual species and a genuine wilderness experience, Greenlandic muskox is difficult to beat.
REINDEER
Hunt reindeer in the country of mountains, tundra and ice.
Greenland offers an exceptional environment for hunting wild reindeer.
The open Arctic landscape allows extensive glassing followed by stalking on foot, with the scenery becoming as important a part of the experience as the hunt itself.
A reindeer hunt can be arranged as the main purpose of the trip or, depending on the programme and season, combined with muskox.

SUMMER OR WINTER?
Two seasons. Two completely different Arctic hunting experiences.
Our hunts are based around Kangerlussuaq in West Greenland, one of Greenland's best-known areas for Muskox and Reindeer hunting.
You can experience this remarkable hunting area in two completely different ways.
WINTER MUSKOX HUNT
The full Arctic experience.
Winter hunting is primarily focused on Muskox.
After arriving in Kangerlussuaq, you travel into the hunting area and stay in a remote hunting camp. Transportation in the hunting area is organised using ATVs or other suitable means depending on conditions.
Once a mature Muskox bull is located, the final approach is made on foot.
The winter landscape, snow, low temperatures and possibility of seeing the Northern Lights make this a true Arctic hunting experience.
After successfully hunting your Muskox, there may also be opportunities for selected small game depending on the current programme and regulations.
SUMMER & AUTUMN HUNT
Muskox, Reindeer and the Arctic wilderness.
Summer and early autumn offer a completely different Greenland.
The tundra is open, travelling conditions are different and Muskox and Reindeer can be combined in the same hunting programme, depending on current availability.
For hunters particularly interested in a good Reindeer bull, this is the season we would normally recommend.
Depending on the programme, access to remote hunting areas can include helicopter transportation, making the journey into Greenland's wilderness part of the experience itself.
WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Choose winter if your priority is Muskox and you want the full snow-covered Arctic experience.
Choose summer/autumn if you would like to combine Muskox with Reindeer or prefer hunting in the open tundra without the extreme winter conditions.

WHAT IS A GREENLAND HUNT REALLY LIKE?
Remote, simple and unforgettable.
This isn't a luxury lodge safari. You are travelling into the Arctic wilderness to hunt with experienced local guides.
ARRIVAL IN KANGERLUSSUAQ
Your Greenland adventure starts in Kangerlussuaq, where you will be met on arrival.
From here, the journey continues into the hunting area and camp.
THE CAMP
Accommodation in the hunting area is comfortable but practical – exactly what you need after spending a day outside in the Arctic.
The camp provides a base for the hunt, meals and evenings with your hunting companions and guides.
FIND, THEN STALK
The first objective is to locate a suitable mature Muskox.
Once an animal is selected, the final approach is made on foot with your guide.
Shooting distances can often be relatively moderate, but terrain, weather and conditions always determine the actual situation.
ARCTIC WEATHER
The weather is part of the experience.
Especially during the winter hunt, suitable clothing and equipment are essential. We will advise you what to bring before travelling, and specialised cold-weather clothing can potentially be rented locally depending on the programme.
PHYSICAL CONDITION
You don't need to be a mountain athlete to hunt Muskox in Greenland.
The amount of walking depends on the season, hunting area and programme. Transport can take hunters deep into the area before the final stalk is made on foot.
If you have limitations with walking, tell us in advance. We can check which programme is suitable for you.
Greenland isn't about luxury. The luxury is being there.

GOOD TO KNOW
HOW DIFFICULT IS A GREENLAND HUNT?
The physical difficulty depends on the season, weather, terrain and the particular hunting programme.
Transportation takes you into the hunting area, but the final stalk is normally made on foot. You should be comfortable walking over uneven Arctic terrain.
Tell us honestly about your physical condition when planning the hunt. It helps us recommend the most suitable programme.
WINTER OR SUMMER – WHICH IS BETTER?
Neither is simply better. They are different experiences.
Winter is an excellent choice if Muskox is your main priority and you want to experience Greenland covered in snow.
Summer and early autumn offer easier conditions for moving through the landscape and are particularly interesting if you would like to combine Muskox with Reindeer.
We will recommend the suitable option according to what you want from the hunt.
HOW LONG IS THE HUNT?
The exact programme depends on the season and hunt selected.
Our typical Muskox programmes can be relatively short, making Greenland possible even for hunters who cannot spend two weeks away from home.
Your individual offer will show the complete itinerary, hunting days and accommodation.
CAN I HUNT MUSKOX AND REINDEER TOGETHER?
Depending on the season, quotas and availability, yes.
A combined Muskox + Reindeer hunt is particularly interesting during the summer/autumn period and allows you to make the most of travelling all the way to Greenland.
CAN I RENT A RIFLE?
Yes. Rifle rental can be arranged.
For many international hunters this is the simplest option and avoids travelling through several countries with their own firearm.
If you prefer to bring your own rifle, we will discuss the applicable arrangements with you before travelling.
WHAT CLOTHING DO I NEED?
This depends heavily on the season.
Winter hunting requires proper Arctic clothing, footwear and equipment suitable for very low temperatures and changing weather.
We will provide a recommended equipment list before your trip. Depending on the programme, specialised cold-weather clothing may also be available for rental.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY TROPHY?
After the hunt, the trophy can be prepared for export and further processing.
Our local partners can organise the initial preparation and transportation, with further taxidermy and shipping arranged according to your requirements.
The exact procedure and additional costs will be explained before your hunt.
CAN I SEE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS?
Possibly – and if conditions are right, it can become one of the unforgettable moments of the trip.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and obviously cannot be guaranteed, but the dark Arctic skies during the appropriate season offer excellent opportunities.
