Small, secretive and surprisingly challenging.
Muntjac stalking is one of England's most characteristic hunting experiences. Their behaviour, preferred habitat and small body size can make them much more challenging to hunt than their size might suggest.
For many European hunters, muntjac is also a completely new species and an attractive addition to their hunting experience.
CHINESE WATER DEER
One of Europe's most unusual deer species.
With no antlers and distinctive tusks in mature bucks, Chinese Water Deer offer a hunting experience and trophy completely different from other European deer.

Muntjac may be small, but successful stalking requires patience, careful observation and a good understanding of their habitat.
CHINESE WATER DEER
A completely different challenge.
Open fields, grassland and wetland habitats can offer longer observation and stalking opportunities, while mature bucks with their characteristic tusks provide one of Europe's most unusual deer trophies.

HOW DO WE HUNT IN ENGLAND?
Traditional stalking with experienced local guides.
Most of our individual deer hunting in England is based on stalking and carefully observing the hunting area with your local guide.
MORNING & EVENING STALKS
Hunting is normally organised around periods when deer are most active.
Depending on the species, season and conditions, you may hunt in the early morning, evening or at other suitable times during the day.
STALKING & WAITING
The hunting method depends on the species and terrain.
Some opportunities involve traditional stalking on foot, while others may include waiting from a suitable position and observing fields, woodland edges or known areas of deer activity.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
With species such as muntjac and Chinese Water Deer, knowing the hunting ground matters.
You hunt with local guides who understand the area, deer movements and the places where the best opportunities are likely to occur.
BETWEEN THE STALKS
A short hunting trip doesn't mean you have to spend every minute in the field.
The programme can be organised around the hunting periods, leaving time between stalks to rest, enjoy the area or simply experience a little of England.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HUNT MUNTJAC?
Muntjac can be hunted throughout the year in England, which makes them an excellent species for planning a short hunting trip.
The conditions and character of the hunt change throughout the year, so we can recommend a suitable period according to your expectations and the hunting area.
WHEN CAN I HUNT CHINESE WATER DEER?
Unlike muntjac, Chinese Water Deer have a defined hunting season.
This means that if you want to combine Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer in one trip, your dates need to be planned around the CWD season.
Tell us when you would like to travel and we will check suitable opportunities with our local partners.
HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD I PLAN?
For a focused Muntjac or Chinese Water Deer hunt, a relatively short trip can be sufficient.
If you would like to combine both species or have particular trophy expectations, we may recommend additional hunting time.
We will suggest a realistic programme based on your priorities rather than automatically adding unnecessary hunting days.
CAN I BRING MY OWN RIFLE?
Yes, subject to the applicable UK firearm requirements and documentation.
However, for a short trip many international hunters prefer not to travel with their own firearm.
Rifle rental can be arranged, making the journey considerably easier.
CAN YOU GUARANTEE A TROPHY?
No.
These are free-ranging animals and hunting conditions, animal movement and opportunities can never be guaranteed.
What we can do is choose suitable hunting areas and experienced local guides according to the species and trophy expectations you are looking for.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY TROPHY?
We can help organise the preparation and further transport of your trophy after the hunt.
Tell us whether you want the complete head, skull or another form of trophy preparation and we will discuss the suitable arrangements with our local partner.
CAN MY PARTNER COME WITH ME?
Of course.
A non-hunting companion can travel with you and we can take this into account when choosing accommodation and organising your programme.
